Happiness is a good...Coffee

Good morning everybody!! I am excited to be sharing my Kat Scrappiness Design Team project that I created for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop which started today and runs through June 1st.

How sweet is this?!?! I wanted to go for a bright colored card because bright vibrant colors make me think Summer, and right about now, after the harsh Winter most of us have had to endure, I can't wait for Summer to get here!

I started off by creating my card base using 110lb. Neenah Solar White Card Stock. This card base is an A2 sized card base, which measures 4-1/4"W x 5-1/2"H. The patterned paper I chose to use if from the Cream and Sugar 6x6 paper pad from Doodlebug Design Inc. I cut both pieces of the chosen paper down to measure, 4-1/8"W x 5-3/8"H.

I then chose to use the Fancy Scalloped Stitched Border Dies by Kat Scrappiness to die cut one sheet of my patterned paper.

I used the Layered Coffee Cup Die by Kat Scrappiness to created my Coffee Cup. The cup was created using French Vanilla Bazzill Card Stock and the cup lid was created using Avalanche Bazzill Card Stock. The coffee cup sleeve was created using more patterned paper from the Cream and Sugar 6x6 Paper Pad from Doodlebug Design Inc.

I knew that I somehow wanted to create and incorporate a shaker element into my coffee cup. Because I was going with somewhat of a heart theme as well, I decided to use my Hearts Custom Craft Dies by Lawn Fawn to achieve that desired look. I die cut three different sized hearts out of the coffee sleeve and adhered a piece of acetate behind it.

Once my acetate was adhered and dried, I then added thin strips of foam tape as I wanted my shaker element to be elevated and "pop" from the card.  I used a combination of both the Chocolate Truffle and Caramel Latte Sequin Mixes from Kat Scrappiness as my shaker elements. These sequin mixes are absolutely perfect for any coffee themed or even chocolate themed projects you may want to create.

Once my Coffee Cup Shaker was complete, it was time to assemble and complete my card. I layered and adhered my patterned papers onto my card base. I stamped part of my sentiment, "happiness is a good..." on the top half of my card using one of the stamps from the Espresso Yourself Clear Stamp Set by Sugar Pea Designs. For the second half of my card sentiment, I die cut the word "coffee" using the "Got Coffee?" Die by Kat Scrappiness and adhered it onto the bottom half of my card.  I then adhered one of the smallest hearts that was die cut from the coffee sleeve when creating my shaker to the bottom right corner of my coffee cup to complete the card.

I hope that you have enjoyed my quick tutorial on how I created this coffee themed card for you today. Easter Card Inspiration for the KaDoodle Bug Designs Easter Challenge

Good morning crafty friends! Today I am excited to stop in and share two Easter cards that I have created as inspiration for the Tic-Tac-Toe Easter Challenge going on now through April 1st over at KaDoodle Bug Designs. Feel free to stop by and check out all of the details here.

For my two cards, I have used the Eggie Buddies Easter Chick file and the Oh for Peeps Sake! file.

I started off by uploading these two files to my Cricut Design Space, re-sizing each and then cutting out all the pieces with my Cricut Explore Air 2.  Each piece was then inked using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and all was adhered together using Art Glitter Glue.

On the "Oh for Peeps Sake!" card, I used ReCollections Glitter on the letters to make "Peeps" stand out and add a little interest.  On the "Happy Easter" card I added some bling to one of the eggs using Hero Arts - Hero Hues self-adhesive gems. I also stamped my Happy Easter sentiment onto one of the eggs using Lawn Fawn's "Some Bunny" Stamp Set.

As for the base of my cards, I used 110lb. ReCollections White card stock. My card mats were created using Lawn Fawn's "Gotta Have Gingham" 6x6 petite paper pad and each were die cut using the "Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle Die" from Kat Scrappiness.

To finally finish off these cards, I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops for added interest and a bit of dimension.

Below is a complete list of supplies and materials (some with links to products) that I have used in the creation of these cards:

Bazzill Card Stock

ReCollections 110lb. White Cardstock

Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn, Seedless Preserves, Broken China, Abandoned Coral, Rusty Hinge, Pumice Stone

Art Glitter Glue

Pebbles Pearlescent Chalk Inks: Shimmer Shades

Sakura Pigma Micron Black Pen 01

ReCollections Fine Glitter: Shimmer Coral, Shimmer Blue, Shimmer Yellow, Shimmer Green, Shimmer Purple

I hope that I have helped to inspire you and hope that you will join in on the Easter Challenge over at the KaDoodle Bug Designs Facebook page.

You Color My World.....

Hello everybody! It’s Jana and I am super excited to be posting and sharing my first project as a Design Team Member for the Kat Scrappiness Blog. Today’s post features the Everyday Brush Strokes Stamp Set which has just been released for March. This is an amazing stamp set and can be used in so many different ways. This set comes with a total of 18 stamps which include: 11 sentiments, 2 paint splatters and 5 brush strokes all varying in size.

To begin, I first die cut a piece of the Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Water Color Cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangle Dies. I used the largest die in the set, which fits perfectly on an A2 sized card. I decided that for this particular card I wanted to use only the paint splatters from the stamp set. I randomly stamped multiple paint splatters all over the cardstock using Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink Pads by Tim Holtz.
I then cut a strip of card stock measuring approximately 5″ wide by 3/4″ high. Using the Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform, together with the Versamark Clear Embossing Ink Pad and White Hero Arts Embossing Powder, I heat embossed the “you color my world” sentiment for my card.

I adhered the card mat to the card base using 1/4″ Scor-Tape. I then applied a strip of Foam Mounting Tape to the back of the sentiment as I wanted it to pop up and stand out and adhered it to the front of my card mat.
I adhered a few of the small Sparkling Clear Droplets from the Kat Scrappiness Sampler Pack using Ranger Multi Medium Matte to add some interest and finish off the card.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and it has helped to inspire you.  All products used in the project are listed below and can be found at the Kat Scrappiness Store. Remember to use the Code: JANA10 to receive 10% off of your order.

Happy Birthday

Hello there my crafty friends! Today I am stopping in to share a card that I created for this weeks new tic-tac-toe challenge over at KaDoodle Bug Designs

It is a Birthday tic-tac-toe challenge and all of the details on how to enter can be found on the pinned post here.

I used the Polka Dots, Cake, & Sentiment line to create my card. This is a standard A2 sized card. My card base is 110lb white ReCollections cardstock. The pink patterned card mat is from the Doodlebug Design Inc. Swiss Dot Rainbow Petite Prints 6x6 paper pad and the larger polka dot strip is from the Doodlebug Design Inc. Fairy Tales 6x6 paper pad.  I added some twine that I had in my stash, along the polka dot strip to add some interest.

For my paper piecing, I used the adorable "Birthday Slushy" file from KaDoodle Bug Designs.  I uploaded the file into my Cricut Design Space, resized and cut each piece using my Cricut Explore Air 2.  I inked up all of the pieces using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and adhered all pieces together using Art Glitter glue. To finish this cutie off, I added some Stickles to areas of his birthday hat and some Glossy Accents to the sprinkles or candy drops on the cake.

I kept my sentiment straight to the point, and used a "happy birthday" stamp from the Kat Scrappiness Everyday Brush Strokes Stamp Set.

Below is a list of supplies and products I used to create this sweet birthday card:

All of the paper piecings were cut using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and are made using Bazzill Cardstock. They were all inked and chalked and white gel pen and Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to complete each piece.

I wanted the "foil look" for the candy wrapper, so I used cardstock from the DCWV Crisp Luxury Paper Pad.  The photo mats were created using Bazzill Cardstock and embossed cardstock from the ReCollections Valentine's 5 x 7 paper pad.  Each photo mat was die cut using dies from Kat Scrappiness.

Below is a list of products and supplies I used to create this sweet layout:
