Let's Chill

Hello friends!! I hope everybody has enjoyed the Holidays! I can't believe that tomorrow is New Year's Eve!!! I'm excited to see what the New Year will bring and hope it involves a lot more crafting!!!!

Anyway, as one of my last projects for 2015, I made this adorable "Let's Chill" card using a cutting file from KaDoodle Bug Designs - Snow Friends (Graphic Design is from Whimsical Inklings by Cheryl).

This card measures 5x7 and was made using a combination of both ReCollections & Bazzill card stock. The patterned paper I used is the "Stacked with Love" Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin' Up!

After uploading the file into Design Space and cutting all my pieces, I chalked each piece using Color Box Chalk Inks in the following colors: French Blue, Seattle Sky, Dark Brown, Red Barn, Burnt Sienna and Rose Coral.  I then pieced them all together using Aleene's Tacky Glue.

Although you may not be able to tell from the picture, I also used a White Gel Pen, some Wink of Stella (GL. Silver 102) and some Stickles (Ice) on some of the pieces for added highlights, definition and texture.

For the sentiment area of the card, I used ReCollections Printed Tape (Chevron Pattern). I cut out two (2) scallop circles using my Sizzix dies and Big Shot machine.  My sentiment "Let's Chill" is from the Craftin Desert Diva's - Chill Out stamp set. I stamped it onto my scalloped circles using StazOn Jet Black Ink. I also added some Stickles (Ice) to the areas of the "Chill" where it looks like it is snow/ice (again, I apologize if you can't see it in the picture).

And there you have it..... my completed "Let's Chill" card. Thank you all for stopping by today. I wish each and every one of you a Happy, Healthy New Year filled with lots of Love (and crafting)!!!

Christmas Treat Bag Covers

Hi there. Is everybody ready for the upcoming Holiday? As usual, I am still doing all the last minute preparations and running around trying to get everything bought and wrapped and trying not to forget about anybody.  So with that being said.....I made these treat bag covers for some of the staff and teachers at my daughters school.

This is a file designed by Whimsical Inklings by Cheryl and the cut file is from KaDoodle Bug Designs.  These files are way too adorable and so easy to work with. To start, I uploaded the cutting file to my Cricut Explore, re-sized the images and cut them out.  I used both Bazzill and ReCollections card stock.

Once all my pieces were cut, I then used my Color Box Chalk Inks (Colors used: Chestnut Roan, Creamy Brown, Red Barn and Deep Green) and Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks for my shading.  I used Aleene's Tacky Glue to adhere them together and added some highlights with my white Gelly Roll pen.

For the tag I added, I used white tags I had on hand from ReCollections. I chalked the edges of the tag for a bit of extra color. I used twine and buttons I had on hand (again, from ReCollections). My "Merry Christmas" sentiment is also a ReCollections stamp and is stamped on using StazOn Ink (Jet Black). To finish my tag, I added three pearl adhesive gems.

For the treat bag cover, I cut a piece of Bazzill cardstock to measure 4.75" x 11".  I then scored the paper at 1", 5.25" and 6.75".  I used a scalloped die I had to punch out the center of the front panel. I also made a notch at the top center using a small round punch, so that my treat bag would be able to slip through.  I should also mention that I added a strip of adhesive tape to the underside of the top flap, so that it would stay closed and adhered together after my treat bag was added.  I added my delicious treats to my treat bag and once in the cover, tied it off with satin ribbon.

And there you have it, a cute little treat/gift for just about anybody.  I love how they turned out and it really was super easy to do.  I hope you all enjoyed my project for the day. See you all soon!

Lovin' From the Oven...

Good afternoon.  I hope everybody is having a great weekend.  I wanted to stop in and share this double page layout I created using a super cute file from KaDoodle Bug Designs - "Oh Ginger Snaps". I just love how cute these little gingerbread boy and girl turned out.

The  patterned designer paper I used for this layout is from the Crate Paper - Snow Day Pad. I also used Bazzill and Recollections card stock for my paper pieces.

I uploaded my svg file to the Cricut Design Space and cut each piece out using my Cricut Explore.  Once all pieces were cut I used my Color Box Chalk Inks to shade each piece and then assembled them as you see here.

Once my ginger boy and girl were both assembled, I added a few sprinkles to the cookie tree on the girl ginger. These sprinkles are from Doodlebug Design, Inc. and are the Primary Assortment of Sprinkles.

I then cut out 4 frames using the frame from the Simply Sweet Cartridge in Design Space. I chalked the edges of each frame and added three buttons to one corner of each.  The other corner of the frame has a small ginger or tree cookie cutter, also found in the KaDoodle Bug Designs, Oh Ginger Snaps file.

My layout title, "Lovin' From the Oven" was also made in Design Space. I used the Birthday Cakes Font to create it and once it was cut out, I adhered it to the center of a frame.

I think it looks pretty good. I hope you all enjoy it as well.  Thanks for stopping by today! I will see you all again soon!

Milk & Cookies For Santa

Hello there! Today, I'm sharing a Glass and Plate I made especially for Santa!! As far as my kids are concerned, the most important part of Christmas Eve is to make sure that Milk and Cookies are left for Santa to enjoy during his visit.  This file from KaDoodle Bug Designs is just perfect for that! This is the Charmkin Cuties Christmas Eve Bedtime file.

I ended up purchasing the glass and plate from my local Dollar Store.  I uploaded my svg file to my Cricut Explore and sized the images accordingly.  I then cut out each piece of vinyl and put them together and applied them to both my plate and glass. I used a permanent white and black marker for some added highlights on the vinyl and also used a pink marker for the color on the cheeks.  "Milk & Cookies" & "For Santa" are also cut out of vinyl using the Arial Rounded MT Bold font on my Cricut as well.

I think it came out pretty good.  I know my children will be excited about it! Thanks for stopping by today! See you all again real soon!
