Christmas Treat Bag Covers

Hi there. Is everybody ready for the upcoming Holiday? As usual, I am still doing all the last minute preparations and running around trying to get everything bought and wrapped and trying not to forget about anybody.  So with that being said.....I made these treat bag covers for some of the staff and teachers at my daughters school.

This is a file designed by Whimsical Inklings by Cheryl and the cut file is from KaDoodle Bug Designs.  These files are way too adorable and so easy to work with. To start, I uploaded the cutting file to my Cricut Explore, re-sized the images and cut them out.  I used both Bazzill and ReCollections card stock.

Once all my pieces were cut, I then used my Color Box Chalk Inks (Colors used: Chestnut Roan, Creamy Brown, Red Barn and Deep Green) and Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks for my shading.  I used Aleene's Tacky Glue to adhere them together and added some highlights with my white Gelly Roll pen.

For the tag I added, I used white tags I had on hand from ReCollections. I chalked the edges of the tag for a bit of extra color. I used twine and buttons I had on hand (again, from ReCollections). My "Merry Christmas" sentiment is also a ReCollections stamp and is stamped on using StazOn Ink (Jet Black). To finish my tag, I added three pearl adhesive gems.

For the treat bag cover, I cut a piece of Bazzill cardstock to measure 4.75" x 11".  I then scored the paper at 1", 5.25" and 6.75".  I used a scalloped die I had to punch out the center of the front panel. I also made a notch at the top center using a small round punch, so that my treat bag would be able to slip through.  I should also mention that I added a strip of adhesive tape to the underside of the top flap, so that it would stay closed and adhered together after my treat bag was added.  I added my delicious treats to my treat bag and once in the cover, tied it off with satin ribbon.

And there you have it, a cute little treat/gift for just about anybody.  I love how they turned out and it really was super easy to do.  I hope you all enjoyed my project for the day. See you all soon!
